Q:Chinese 3G phones?

by Ruchira on September 3, 2010

I write tutorials most of the time but this time is a question for you. Well now a days you can see Chinese phones comes out very quick Clones, etc. But there is a question that bugs me most of the time when I think about Chinese mobile phones.

Now China become a global manufacturer of everything and phones and just only one subject. We can see ( check ebay ) various Chinese phones comes out with various options like Wifi,GPS even there are Android,Windows Mobile dual boot phones available for less than $190. Most of Chinese phones are replicas and there are some branded devices like Meizu (

Meizu M8) available too.

( Meizu M8 brilliant phone made by Chinese company Meizu but lacks 3G )

This is the point we have seen many Chinese phones but did you see 3G option (video calls, high speed internet) on them? That’s the question and I don’t know why! Is there any limitation? Technical limitations? I have asked this question long ago from gsm-hosting forum but it didn’t answered http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f457/chinese-3g-phones-1000260/

I’m not talking about brands like Accer,Lenovo its all about other replica manufacturers. If they can intergrate GPS,Wifi and other thingys why not 3G?

Hi Ruchira,
For long time, i wish to mail you. Anyway, i wish to add few points.. Why not? Huawei phone. It may not cheap as listed in ebay Chinese phones or equal to Samsung Galaxy but interms of hardware they are good. Even they have 4G tablet on the cards.

In the same time, some Chinese phone may not have some features or limited support for outside China. For example language support, bulid in apps, 3G modems features etc. Above all customer support ? (otherwise we should ready to read the Chinese internet fourms).

So, in general, i would like to have theses below 200 usd phone as second phone not my primary phone.
Yes, I too agree Meizu M8 is good.Wonder why they have not 3G.

Thanks for posting. Keep thinking !!
