Content thieves and the Google Penguin

Google’s penguin updates are really having an impact on genuine web sites. This own blog is just a one of those. Some day on last November, traffic dropped overnight about 50% and I’m seeing a strong decline since then. You might guess that I deserve it, well no I never purchased links or never went after building links manually. I always believed that the content is the king and if you write genuine and unique content your readers will link your content everywhere and you will get quality links automatically. 100% of links to this blog were achieved that way. And yet Google has penalized my web site and I have tried contacting them with reconsideration request but their answer was

We received a request from a site owner to reconsider https://www.ruchirablog.com/ for compliance with Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. We reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the webspam team that might affect your site’s ranking in Google. There’s no need to file a reconsideration request for your site, because any ranking issues you may be experiencing are not related to a manual action taken by the webspam team.

I have never received unnatural link warnings on Webmaster tools or anything. Only message I got regarding the traffic drop was,

https://www.ruchirablog.com/: Big traffic change for top URL. Search results clicks for https://www.ruchirablog.com/**********/ have decreased significantly.

I have loosen about 80% of my search traffic after about November 22nd. Only thing I can suspect of was that I have changed the hosting server on November 21st to a new fast one and believe me nothing else changed except the IP address and there wasn’t even any downtime during the transition. But its not a valid cause to a traffic drop.

Above is what graphs looks like. And traffic is still declining. My top ranked search terms were all gone and most of those weren’t even on the top 50 results now. And most of the time I cant find my pages even I search for the exact title.

Funny thing is that content thieves who copied all my content without any source attributions are ranking above me and my own pages aren’t even on the first 3 pages on Google search for the exact title search. Here is just an example. Someone from ekoice.info stole my articles and published on that web site. And ekoice is just few days old

Domain Name:EKOICE.INFO
Created On:23-May-2013 08:57:10 UTC

And here are some examples for what I’m talking about. Lets search for a exact title match “Apache 2.2 vs 2.4 What to choose on Cpanel? | Ruchirablog”stolen

My own content is not even on the first 3 pages on Search. And here is another example for “How to add Google+ authorship to WordPress easily | Ruchirablog”

The list goes on and on. Google said they created Penguin to fight spam and reward genuine web sites and you can see what they have done finally. Sorry for the rank but it sickens me to see these things. Sure I’m not blogging after traffic or fame but everyone deserves appreciation for their hard work and I was hoping the recent Penguin 2.0 update would fix this issue but it didn’t. And I’m thinking should I write anymore for nothing?

Well it’s a shame you’ve been negatively impacted. I too have noticed a drop in traffic recently but my blog is much smaller than your’s. I guess the lesson is that if you write for the web you live and die by your google ranking.

This is one of the worst examples to see….. i am said that your blog got it because of some non-sense update….. if an experienced blogger like get hit then what about newbies like me ?
