Find the plugins which slows down your wordpress site

by Ruchira on November 10, 2012

Its a proven fact that people doesn’t like slow loading web sites it drives away sales and you wont be able to monetize it, even Google doesn’t like it and it directly affects your search engine rankings by googles new algorithms, If you run wordpress based blog or web site, there are several factors which can slow down your site loading times, But main reason tends to be the badly optimized plugins. There are thousands of plugins for wordpress and you might use 10 personally on my blog I use 30,  but just one bad plugin can cause your blog to load slowly and its not easy to find the cause unless you try by disabling one by one,

P3 Plugin performance Profiler is built to give you better insights about your plugins and how it contributes to page load and generation times

Setting up this plugin is very easy just search for P3 from your wordpress plugin dashboard or grab it from here . After installing you can open it up by going to Tools -> P3 and run the automatic test, you will get a nice graph like on top and many more information on the sub tabs, This is a nice way to optimize your code side of things, For example if it shows plugin X contributes to 0.2sec load time you can find alternatives to plugin X and try with it, likewise you can optimize the setup to get maximum performance out of your web site, But remember it might not be spot on but worth to give it a try
