I think you know the meaning of locked dongles. That means that dongles locked for using one career which you bought the modem from.
Check your modem for its imei ( Its usually printed on modem) And see this post to calculate your unlock code.

Then run it-
Click detect and slect your modem from list then click accept.

HI Ruchira, I have a Huawei E1750 modem, I followed the instructions for unlocking but when I enter the unlocking code, it only returns : send unlock command OK.

The 10 code only means if you have entered wrong codes. This case it gives your unlock command send error. If you are newbie for these please use another PC. maybe your office or friends 🙂

the 10 count only affects if you entered wrong unlock code! In this case it doesnt counts towards 10 attempts. you can view this on DC-Unlocker ! Which OS that you using?

maybe your PCs OS not supported! What is your OS? Can you try with another computer? I can conform this working for 98% of people and they unlocked more than 10000 modems following my guide! traffic to this post proves it!

i was able to get the unlock code and flash code for our huawei e1750. however i have problems running/opening the huawei code writer that is a RAR file…pls help me how to go about this.
also, i’d like to ask how to check whether a certain modem is locked or unlocked? my hubby is not really sure if the huawei e1750 he bought is locked or unlocked. he bought it from China with a Unicom sim card. however, the seller (those selling stuffs in ports) just told him that he can use it anywhere (other countries) with the same sim. not sure though if he means the same sim as in 3G sims?

If you are newbie for these and not sure about your modem unlocked or not best thing is to try putting other sim card and plug in the dongle. If you can see signal bars and your network details it means its unlocked! You can try it with your mobile phones simcard. You dont need 3g sim for this. and seller told that modem is unlocked same theory applies to 3g sims and normal sims too. There nothing different than the connection technology ! 🙂
If you see error message when you put another sim it means its locked so you can use this guide to unlock it for free in 2 minutes. Contact me if you want additional help

Flash code wont work. Can you tell me which OS are you using? And are you sure modem is plugged to PC correctly? Go to device manager and see if modem detected correctly or not!

there might be some kind of hardware problem on your modem! Can you try using another computer? maybe one of your friends computer? 🙂

Best thing what I can tell is please try with another computer! There might be problem in your modem connectivity or OS and drivers!
Huawei E1550 Kyivstar with firmware ends by .174 couldn’t be unlocked by nck code 🙁 This stick even blocked for firmware update and need some secter method. Do you know where I can find it? 10x

It looks like you misunderstood the units. There is difference in kbps and KB/s if software shows 300-400kbps and if you are getting 30-40KB/s speed its very natural!

Looks like software error! Did you restarted your PC after unlocking? Also remove older connection software and reinstall it!

Hey Ruchira, I’m using a Starhub Broadband HUAWEI E1550 usb dongle, and I would like to use the modem for another operators, and I’m running Windows Vista.
Here are some of the problems that I encounter:
1. Using CodeWriter, I can select the COM port and choose the USB dongle port, but yet it become not responsive. (Waited for an hour…still no response)
2. After the steps, should I enter Flash code or Unlock Code? Will the original broadband software come with the broadband stick replaced or removed?
3. If it was removed then how to install it back?

Please allow me to further explain the process for those who are still confused:

TO UNLOCK YOUR USB MODEM:
1. find your IMEI code on your usb modem. My IMEI number was 358119124339258
2. go to this website: http://www.bb5.at/huawei.php?imei=****************
where the *************** is your own IMEI number.

3. going to that website shows the following:

7. now what you need to do is go into your dialer software and make sure you create a profile that matches your carrier.

I have two of them same model from the service provider here in kenya. i still get the Sending Unlock Code Error I have read all previous comments and tried to use different PCs. I still get the same error. The DC Unlocker says tht i have 0 attempts remaining on both and i have only entered the unlock code twice. Is there a way the provider could have reduced the attempts to 0? The Valid SIM Card is still working hence the modem is still ok.
oh yes! There is a chance that your provider made the attempt count to 0! thats new way of blocking unlocks! You cant unlock this now you need to take it to unlock shop and they can unlock it with their hardware boxes!

Ruchira, well i don’t have the typical problem like all, i did managed to unlock my E180 Card through your instructions but when i enter sim from any other network, it says “The SIM card has not been detected or is invalid” while the original network sim works fine. Crossed checked with dc-unlocker showing sim status as unlocked. Any idea what could be causing this issue ? Same error occurs using Mobile Partner software :S
