I Love Windows! Linux sucks!!

by Ruchira on October 3, 2010

Ruchira loves windows

I have message for people who say’s hey windows sucks switch for Ubuntu. Well people this is not a matter of fact about paid and free. In my personal experience I love Microsoft windows and I’m using Ubuntu for this web server

  • Windows is not for servers!

But hey do you know that 2 most popular web apps that i use run on Microsoft IIS . They are respectively Godaddy and sitemeter. So you cant say that microsoft is not for servers.

Windows is paid but I think it worth’s every penny. Geeks thinks windows is bad. But linux doesnt even install mp3 codecs for playback in default install everything must be configured with zero but can tune to hero. Personally I love windows and I think Microsoft did the most of the job toΒ accelerateΒ the computer world! Even your grandma can use windows but linux?

As you’ve said, Windows is not for servers(most distos). But there are few versions which were designed for web servers such as Windows Server 2003/2008 etc…

I don’t know which Linux distribution you’ve pointed on this post. But most of the distributions includes the MP3 support in default.
Even if it doesn’t, you know how easy to install a program in Linux.

Platforms are different. And can’t be compared actually.

There are large number of Linux distributions out there. You can find a one for your grandma among them for sure. πŸ˜›

If you haven’t tried Ubuntu Ultimate edition yet, I suggest you to use it. And tell me which is the better one. πŸ˜‰

But, I am using Windows on my PC also. πŸ˜€
So I am not a Linux freak.

I’m a geek and I don’t think Windows is bad. I develop for the Window platform, mainly for Windows Server 2008.

Windows is a corporate monster who has the same goal as every other business in the world…to make money. Linux is produced and distributed by the community with the idea that software should be free. I’ll tell you this. The only reason you find Windows so much easier to use than linux, is probably solely due to your lack of linux exposure.

I agree the facts! But Im still newbie for windows too! πŸ˜› I started using windows ( computers) about 8 years ago and started linux about 5 years ago πŸ™‚ .

I’ve been dipping in and out of Linux for years.
It’s certainly improved alot since I used it all those years ago, and although I have Windows on my machine at the moment, I’m finding it annoying enough with all the bsod daily now! etc to probably go over to Linux 100%.
Only thing that annoys me about Linux these days is poorly put together software by people who don’t understand we’d like a little help running their software, rather than having to spend hours at a terminal finding all the extra programs needed to make their stuff run correctly.
I like apt-get etc, and I like software center, it is a lot easier to use than Windows for that side of things.
I suppose I should do ‘my bit’ when I totally give my machine over to Linux by doing what I can to make sure all those horribly written bits of software I like to use, are just put together correctly so others can just point and click πŸ™‚
Not saying everything is rubbish, far from it, just a few things. Then again, don’t you get annoyed in Windows when the program you want to install needs the .net framework installed, so you’ve got to install that monster to run a small program.

.net framework is a breeze! πŸ˜› πŸ˜‰

Linux suck’s and if anyone think’s it is so “free” just start downloading updates codecs and all the “crap” you need before you are even close to doing the same job as Windows out of the box.Just remember not everyone has T1 lines. So if you complain about .net just have a look at Ubuntu 10.xx and tell it to just update not even install new stuff and look at the megabytes and what do you have for Linux that can beat Visual studio? for the developer I don’t want to use console like in old DOS “cpp hello.c hello.asmj hello.obj /a /b /c /e /xoxo /i \lib\sys\etc\linux\d\e\com\etc /o /hello/app/lovelinux/atlast
Jeez it is so 1980.

one word one love one heart , great redmond and i love windows for me is best operating system in the universe

14 JoeSA March 21, 2011 at 11:12 AM

Well? It seems there is a poem for everything!
The universe is a really big place! I am not against Linux per-se I am just saying any business has to make money and to get new technology going takes money and even a bread cost money. My reasons that Linux sucks is that it is not so easy as all the Linux geek’s are claiming even an old 8086 with dos 1.0 one can type and print a letter Wordstar 1.0.Why are there so many distro’s t on PC’s too many to mention one Distro for scientist one for this one for that and my point is ask any “USER” the PA’s, Clerks, accountants, Doctors to install and get their systems up and running! and Linux sucks at that point Totally! The claim being made but it’s “open source” it’s free also then fails totally the reason:The “USER” then phones the Linux geek for help and gues what the guy says “Cool no problem dude! BUT I need some cash for my penguin”
I think you all get the picture so the MS guy wants to be paid and so the Linux guy wants to get paid there ain’t no LinuxVille bru. BUT I’ll make a bet the “USER” will have their Windows working and install MS Office and there are courses and training and help EVERYWHERE but not so in the Linux universe witch is rather small compared to the Windows universe and there is a LOT of “free” and “open source” for Windows too!
Linux sucks at one major point you really need to put a LOT of time into it to know it well and to get drivers and software on it

If Linux was a car just imagine:Download tyres fit them yourself, Download engine assemble yourself, Download body upholster yourself etc….

You go Bill!!

Frankly, I’m sick of all the OS bashing that’s been going on since the 8-bit days. I run Ubuntu on my Netbook and love it. I’ve stuck with Windows XP on my desktop and the system at work (mostly because I subscribe to the “if ain’t broke, don’t fix it theory” with the exception of the netbook) and those work fine, too. My wife has a snazzy notebook with Windows 7 and Microsoft has done a good job with that, too (a nice rebound after that awful Vista).

And when the netbook dies, I’ll probably get a MacBook because, hey, the hardware is great and Mac OS is phenomenal.

Here’s the point — you’ve got at least three solid platforms out there in Windows, Linux and Mac and different people will like them for different reasons. Get what you like and feel comfortable with, use it and be happy.

21 Hritesh Saha June 20, 2011 at 1:00 AM

Microsoft is running for only and only .NET.coz windows is the most fucking os i hve ever seen. The problem is accurate when you use VB script if you press the compile button twice then the IIS get messed up & you have to configure the DNS again which sucks!
Linux is best for scripting environment!!

I think she ran into an windows-ubuntu convert that is trying to advocate windows. Most of us aren’t like that πŸ™‚ If you think linux sucks, don’t use it. We really don’t care.

you are wrong windows sucks, linux sucks mac rules

24 John Adams December 20, 2012 at 5:03 AM

Give me a break!
Windows, be it a server or an operating system on a laptop or desktop, is inherently non secure, as evidenced by the constant “Security Updates” that Microsoft has been forced to make available. In fact, I was quite entertained by the fact that Windows 8 already has a “Security Update” available, and it’s fresh out of the box so to speak. And as we all know, Windows server software is no better, and how can it be when we’re dealing with code that would taste great with marinara sauce and meatballs.

Sure Granny feels at home with Windows servers, as Windows is, well, sorta like Linux with Alzheimer’s. That the Micrsoft website is running Windows behind a Linux firewall says it all. The security is so bad, it can’t be fixed, as the problem lies in the Windows Operating System’s basic architecture. It sucks, big time.
