Get 2500 website backlinks for free!

by Ruchira on October 4, 2010

This is a nice tool and it got exploding traffic for it recently but best thing is its still free! Im going to write about a way that you can get more than 2500 web site backlinks for your site. Logically all the links will not work as said but we can expect at least 1000 google crawled backlinks from this tool!

  • What is this?

IMtalk provides this tool for free. And its not regular backlinks like you think. It creates pages on some pupolar whois, serverinfo viewing sites on the internet like whois.domaintools.com and google visits those sites regularly and crawl them So you will get backlinks. It won’t get any high quality page ranked backlinks but those amount of backlinks are enough to boost your website for at least 1 step in page rank like 1 to 2.

Integrating memcached to wordpress

by Ruchira on October 4, 2010

If you have busy site which gets thousands of visitors a day you might be having a hard time managing your server load. If you are using apache it makes it harder. The best decision is moving to nginx or lighttpd. If Im the one who manage the server Ill choose Nginx because its little bit ahead of lighttpd.

  • If you are newbie for nginx read my guide for installing nginx with all the necessary packages- https://www.ruchirablog.com/nginxmysqlphpfpm-auto-installer-centos-5-debian/

Nginx beats apache in all aspects. Some people using Nginx as reverse proxy to apache its good solution but all the dynamic php content is handled by apache. This 2010 and most of the sites are dynamic !

this is 2010

Using Amazon S3 with wordpress

by Ruchira on October 3, 2010

Ruchirablog faster
Now Im running Ubuntu+Nginx+PHP-FPM+Memcached on this blog. And pingdom says my website loads about in 4 seconds and I want to drive it further! I know this kind of page load time really blows many CDN enabled sites. But I wanted to try out and then I have faced problems here is info- https://www.ruchirablog.com/about-downtime/

Hmm my decision to use cloudfront turned to real bad. But Ill do more testing on my testing environment. 🙂 But I want to move my images to elsewhere because to deliver it more fast ( I dont think it will be more fast than my nginx setup 😛 ) for readers in different countries and continents . And also to reduce disk usage of my server

About that downtime

by Ruchira on October 3, 2010

Hmm I know you probably noticed the last down time happened few hours ago. 🙁 Thats because I crazily wanted to tune my blog to get maximum loading speed. Grrrr.
Ruchirablog downtime

  • What I had before,

I was installed centos 5.5+Nginx+PHP-FPM+Memcached on linode and trust me it was very fast. But I always wanted to tweak it to go further. Pingdom said that front page was loading at average of 4.5 seconds and it is pretty fast and beating most of CDN enabled sites out there! 😛 But hey I wanted to load pages in 2sec :EVIL

  • What you did to get 2sec load time

I signed up fro amazon s3 and cloudfront to move my theme files and media files to edgecast cloud storage. Then started to move files to CDN with “W3 Total Cache” wordpress plugin and saw that some of images on my posts were pointing to amazon cloudfront domain instead of my own Cname domain. And also some of images were broken during upload. So I decided to get back to old state by restoring from a complete linux disk image backup made few hours ago.  And clicked “Restore”

  • Then what happened

wordpress with nginx

by Ruchira on October 2, 2010

Well If you read my article about installing Nginx+Mysql+PHP-FPM on debian or linux server you might interested in knowing how to setup wordpress on your newly installed lnmp serve. If you didnt read my article about how to install lnmp its here-http://www.ruchirablog.com/nginxmysqlphpfpm-auto-installer-centos-5-debian/

LNMP is really nice installer program I only discovered only 1 bug in it. Actually its not about security, LNMP asks your domain when installing so if you provide www.yourdomain.com for lnmp it will only setup your domain with www. So if some one access yourdomain.com ( Without www) it will not placed on the server and your web browser wont resolve that domain and sidplay Not Found error. So don’t worry now im going to write about solving this error and configuring nginx.conf correctly for complete install for wordpress. I have modified nginx.conf forWordPress Permalinks + WP Super Cache + Non WWW to WWW. , So to setup this I have included modified nginx.conf below

You need to open your nginx.conf to put this if this is a single domain lnmp server setup just login to ssh and your nginx.conf file is located in

  • /usr/local/nginx/conf/nginx.conf

To edit in type ,

  • nano /usr/local/nginx/conf/nginx.conf

It will open nginx.conf file in nano text editor like this-
Nginx lnmp

The developers site is www.lnmp.org its really glad to see that he is supplying this for free because these kind of developers really rare now a days.
