Windows 7 Beta Expiring on August 1 2009

by Ruchira on May 25, 2009

Today I have received a email from microsoft like this…

Thanks again for your help in testing the Windows 7 Beta.

We’re sending this mail to remind you that Windows 7 Release candidate is available and to make sure you plan ahead for when the Beta expires on August 1, 2009. On June 1, 2009, the PC you’re using to test the Beta will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will send you a notice a couple of weeks in advance, and that’d be the ideal time to rebuild your test PC with a non-expired version of Windows, such as the RC or Windows Vista. This will be a clean installation, so be ready to reinstall your programs and data. (Learn more about installing Windows.)

So, if you haven’t already done so, we highly recommend that you download and install the RC from one of the following sites today:

IT Pros/Microsoft Partners

Tech Enthusiasts/Consumers

IMPORTANT: If you are running Windows 7 Beta you’ll need to back up your data (preferably on an external device) and then do a clean install of the Windows 7 Release Candidate. After installing Windows 7, you will need to reinstall applications and restore your files. If you need help with the installation process, please see the Installation Instructions.

If you have questions or need help installing the RC, you can get help with your Windows 7 questions at

There’s another expiration date you need to keep in mind: Windows 7 RC will expire on June 1, 2010, and you’ll need to either upgrade to the final release of Windows 7 or a prior version of Windows before then. (We‘ll send you another reminder as this date approaches.)

Thanks again for your interest in Windows 7 and for your help in finishing this product!

SO as you think i downloaded microsoft’s new Windows 7 Beta for testing. It was offered directly by microsoft for testing for bugs. So if we report bugs to microsoft they can improve the final product which they are offering. So after 4 months of using windows 7 beta, here are some of my personal experience about it when compared with Windows Vista.

  • More speedy operations
  • More user friendly
  • Plug and Play options got better
  • Reliable
  • Boot time is fast
  • Windows Media Player is got better
  • Stable
  • Beautiful User Interface

So my computer is on dual boot with windows Vista but now im using windows 7 because its more fast and stable. On April 30 microsoft released Windows 7 release Candidate (RC). I’ve downloaded it but not installed because my current version (built 7100) performs well for me :D. But I will have to install it soon because my current version will begin to restart every 2 hours after 1th of june. lol its a massage to us to remind we should upgrade to newer RC1 or install Vista. But I’ve decided to upgrade to RC1 because I like Windows 7 more than Vista and RC1 will work till next year june 1 and its more good. Also this is a good chance for people who dont have money to buy vista now. So now these days micro$oft looks like they are caring more than past their customers. 😛 So if you want to get in to test team just download the Windows 7 release candidate 1 from here free of cost.

Get a CO.TV Free domain

by Ruchira on May 24, 2009

While surfing on internet on last week I found out there is a new site called which offers free domains with C Name, MX & NS Zone compatibility.

So I tried out their service and registered for their free domain and setup my name servers for free hosting account. Then I’m very impressed about there service. My new domain begun to work immediately after setting up name servers. Unlike CO.CC domains they didn’t took too long to update their name servers. Some times when using a free domains you can signup for a free domain and when you setup name servers for it, It takes too long to update their servers and after 1 years of their service you should pay them also. But this site is completely free right now.

But there are premium domains you can buy there also. But most of good domain names are free. You can setup name servers or directly forward long URL’s after registering. For example imaging that you want to shorten your youtube channel link  looks like this — and you feels its so long and want to make it shorten for lifetime you can sign up in for free domain and select URL forwarding in the setup menu and add the youtube URL you want to forward to…. Its now complete! Easy as 1-2-3 . Check out my   forwarded page works clean and it points to my youtube channel. 😀 So why don’t you give it a try…
